It’s becoming evident: uplifting pursuits such as writing poetry and prose, experimenting with painting, enjoying gardening, finding beauty and joy in life around us, and trying to see things a little differently, are winning over the inevitable task of downsizing clutter!  Ah, retirement!

I live in Ontario, Canada. Together, my husband Werner (photographer) and I enjoy nature, hiking, travelling, flying in his Cessna 150, and now collaborating to pour some of all this into diverse “whphotoplus.ca projects.”

Enthusiastic grandparents, we’re blessed to have raised two kids who, as adults, continue to inspire us.

Mindset-7x7-titlepage

A few years ago I was healed of cancer, given a fresh start on more mindful, healthful, faith-filled living.

Writing my book Mindset – Reflections En Route was therapeutic for me. With positive feedback received from other cancer survivors,  I hope to continue exploring connections in faith, creative expression, emotional and physical health, for myself and others.

One of my favourite quotes about writing:
“Therefore every scribe who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like a master of a house, who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old.”   -Jesus Christ, quoted in Matthew 13:51 (ESV)

I’m still in training, still finding and collecting treasures of thought, wisdom, faith, experience, and beauty around us. It’s a lifelong venture, but as I’ve started bringing some items out for a look, I hope visitors to this blog will find something enjoyable, refreshing, fun, thoughtful, or uplifting here too; and if so, I thank God.

  1. Hildegard, I see you have browsed a bit at “sweet aroma,” as signified by a like on Jay do you Remember, and Plow up the Fallow Ground. Thanks for the visit. I am clicking your follow so hope to travel along with you for a while. If you have clutter and grandchildren, we should do well together!

    • Thank-you for visit, kind words, and follow. Your comment to our mutual blogging friend was uplifting and well-put, much appreciated. I’ve looked at some of your photos in passing; fresh and interesting! The “like” button wasn’t working for me, so you don’t know about it, but I’ll be back to enjoy more of your pictures with their interesting commentary. “Luv n peas” – haha! Same to you! 🙂

    • Thank-you so much, Carol! You too are often in my thoughts! Sending you love and hugs also! ❤ I'm not on WordPress, email etc. much these days as we are going through some changes (health, moving in October), but my thoughts still go out to others even when I don't feel up to replies. I hope everyone will understand. (I'm sure they do, and I appreciate all the thoughts and prayers.) 🙂 Best wishes to you.
